Important manufacturing and commercial centre located on the banks of the river Brenta, at the foo t of Monte Grappa and the plateau of Asiago. Agricultural centre renowned for its cherries, Maros tica keeps unchanged its fourteenth-century urban structure which consists of a circle at the top side of which there are two fortresses: the Castello Inferiore and the Castello Superiore. A special feature of the town is the extravagant main square called Piazza degli scacchi whose floor contains a chessboard on which in even years, the second week of September, held an extraordinary game of chess with living pawns.

Still set within the remains of ancient city wall, this magnificent town, is certainly a destination for countless visitors. In the past was chosen as residence by important personalities: Robert Browning, Henry James, Ernest Hemingway and Eleonora Duse. The town enjoys a good geographical location and a romantic atmosphere.
Historical capital of the district of the “Seven
Communes”, lies at the heart of the plateau basin to which it
gives its name. And this is the land of the people of the Cimbri,
people of Nordic origin that have ˙ colonised the plateau many
centuries ago. The current town was entirely rebuilt after the First
World War that, in the area, had a particularly bloody scene.
The centre lanes are dotted with shops dedicated to tourist shopping
and winter sports. Also there are lots of bar, restaurants, pizzerias,
and hotels, making it one of the capitals of mountain tourism. Asiago
is one of the major destinations for the winter sports, with a myriad
of sky runs spread across the plateau.

Monte Grappa with a height of 1775 metres the highest peak of the homonym massif belonging to the Venetian pre-Alps which rises isolated between the valleys of the rivers Brenta and Piave. The Grappa acquired great importance during the two World Wars: in 1917, following the defeat of Caporetto, became the bulwark of defence of the Austrian troops, and at the end of the second conflict when is the scene of the heroic guerrilla partisan against the Nazis.

ARTESELLA
Arte Sella is an international exhibition of contemporary art, founded in 1986, which takes place in the open in the woods and fields of the Sella Valley ( Province of Trento). Since 1996 the Arte Sella project has been laid out alo ng a path in the woods on the southern slope of the Armentera Mount. The ideal route, named ARTENATURA which has taken shape in this way is designed to enable visitors to observe the works of art and at the same time to enjoy the natural site itself.

The closeness to the Brenta was crucial for creating the economic fortune of the town of Nove and outline the economic and social aspect of “Pottery Land”. Since 1700 in the town there are generations of ceramist who make the area one of the most fervent centre, not only in Italy but also in Europe, of the artistic research in the field of contemporary ceramics.

Often compared to nearby Venice for the many canals that run through and give Ô glimpses of real beauty. Although partially altered by progress Treviso still looks nice and reserved in it’s 3rd millennium.
